I have been told to improve deadlift, don`t deadlift. I have found that as long as you work your prosterior chain hard especially from squats swings etc that your deadlift remains the same and can even improve. Heavy Deadlift is so taxing on the CNS you can easily over train. Keep me posted, and how are the squats? powerlifting or olympic style?

More PL style, but probably not as wide as some. Feels more comfortable to rest the bar lower on the back and I'll do front squats for full ROM.
I enjoy BB squats as much as any exercise, and I feel that there is tremendous strength carry over to many other lifts- even though my max is only around 140kg.

Rick, just to make you feel small, i'll re-iterate a post i saw on another forum...

*ahem*

"Ever since injuring my knee, squatting has been a chore. Today, my set of 315 [143kg] for 30 was very taxing, and only just finished."

Though, i think the poster may weigh 180% of your bodyweight. If that is any consolidation :D

Although I get pretty obsessed with numbers and weights, I like to remind myself that they (numbers) are entirely relative. There are always those "freaks out there". The reason most of us train is because we enjoy the process and can see personal improvement regardless how big or small. 140 is a good squat. Keep on squating brother!

Oh, i'm just poking fun. The guy is a genetic freak.

Theres a story of him power cleaning 400 pounds within a week of learning the move.

Powerlifter, recently turning to bodybuilding. I'll see if i can get a photo tonight; big, scary, unit.

I know you were joking Will, just like to support anyone who squats, we are a dying breed.
