Sure! Welcome , and tell me , do @fitters use the beep test as an indication of achievement? Seems they would excel.

Thanks for the welcome guys.
I personally dont think the beep test means too much but I suppose its the 'closest' global fitness indicator we have. I hate running and would rather throw in some burpees or chin ups to mix it up.
My brother is an exercise physiologist and trains elite athletes and lectures. I did the test today with him and scored a 15.1 which results in 64.2 ml/kg/min.
Doesnt mean much to me but I was told its an excellent result.
Ill happily not do it for another year tho. I did the Sydney Tower stair climb last year and even that was more interesting than running back and forth to the sound of a beep.

Indeed it is , well done. As you can see from http://http://www.topendsports.com/testing/vo2norms.htm I don't have to try too hard as an oldie to get into the "excellent" range! I suspect that's because of the high % of golfers in the golden years. No offense to Rikster & Cam, but they had better keep swinging more than golf clubs to stay fit on their upcoming dotage.;)

15.1 is bloody good. I think the beep test is truly awful and I'd never ever do it again if I could get away with it. Give me 10 mins of snatches anyday.
Welcome to the forum! Best of luck with your training.
