Girevoy Sport Australia , the association for organising Australian girevoy sport (competitive kettlebell lifting) under the auspices of the IUKL (International Union of Kettlebell Lifting) is now calling for financial membership for the year 2009-2010.

The Association encourages adults of all ages to join and welcomes children under the supervision of a responsible adult.
It is recognised that a number of kettlebell lifters may wish to train exclusively for this sport , whilst others may like to compete occasionally as circumstances dictate e.g. during the off season from their usual sport.
For this reason we are offering a user pays system . General financial membership qualifies an individual as eligible to compete , and there is an additional entry fee for each competition.
A competitor may enter one or multiple events for that single fee. The result(s) will form part of the permanent public record of GSAA.

Competitive kettlebell lifting requires special attention to technique plus commitment to regular training and testing. It is not an easy sport, but all levels will be catered for , for example 5 minute and one arm events , as well as traditional 10 minute competition.

and membership forms can be downloaded here :

Please note the special category of Foundation memberships.

At this stage it is envisaged the first competition will be held in late July 2009 , with venues to be announced. Regional & state clubs are in the process of forming and enquiries are welcomed.
At this early stage there are no national qualification standards and thus it is entirely possible for a sportsman/woman to represent their country at international level if they are sufficiently committed.
Kind regards

President, GSAA
