Hi all only just joined the forum yesterday and told a little bout myself etc and was told 2 put up a training log so ppl can help me out in learning more and gaining more in the world of KB's, to night saw me do a KB session with a slight variation so here it is
Warm up
Deadlift 60kg 2 sets of 10
Session 1
Deadlift 80kg 2 sets of 12
16kg KB 15 snatches per arm 3 sets
12kg KB 10 windmills per arm 3 sets
the 2 above KB workout was alternating between the snatches and windmills, not much but was only a quick 45 min session.
This is not the hardest session i have done however as i have been doing KB's for close to 3 months

You know Dave it was a lifelong regret for me NOT doing a martial art, but in the past coupla years I have heard about so many injuries maybe my destiny was instead GS - something I gravitated to whilst rehabbing old imbalances and pains. KB lifting is in many ways a type of "martial art" and imparts benefits across a raft of sports. The more you practise , the more nuances you pick up and as it gets "easier" you are able to train harder. And harder leads back to other activities and sports , so it's all good. Main thing is to allow connective tissues to adapt and avoid the tendency to become the strongest kid on the block in the first few months ;)

To true paul but i guess in all sparts there is some degree of injury with ppl and as far as becomming the strongest kid in town in a few months..........nah theres a heap of stronger more toned ppl at the gym in which i look up2 and yeah i do wish i could b that toned etc but like mentioned in my 1st post on here i do take ages to build muscle but in time i spose it'l come, just rather a full set of KB's, bench and some plates and some kind of cardio machine like a xtrainer or treadmill as my knees dont like being hammered on hard surfaces

Hi Dave,
I know Whyalla well having been up there a few times in a former career. Good to see you taking the time to record your practise, it is an important aspect of training often overlooked. Pauls advise and observations are spot on. Despite what many so called "fitness experts" and other marketeers would have you believe getting bigger and stronger is actually not overly complex or mysterious. Lift often, lift heavy, eat alot of good quality food(+wine:)) and be prepared to build your results over many years. For the next 12 months or so you can look forward to regular and seemingly unending improvements, and these early experiences "may" build the foundations for a permanent change in lifestyle. Anyway others more erudite have sumed it up better than I :

KB session 2,
As you all know that my PT doesnt train me on KB's all the time but i'll try and put up what i did in my session when i have a KB session. Tonight saw me in a KB session so i'll write in down as best as i can.
20 swings alternating with 20 snatches LS
20 swings alternating with 20 snatches RS
20 pushups
20 swings alternating with 20 snatches LS
20 swings alternating with 20 snatches RS
20 pushups
20 rows each side LS/RS (hard to xplain this but here it goes) eg left leg bent right arm rowing KB with right leg behind balancing.
and as for a bit of fun and a bit of xperiance in hand/eye cordination and hand speed (if anyone has seen the movie "never back down" in which there is some KB training in there the actor was doingthe swings with hand taps eg normal swing technique and at top end of swing let go of the KB and tap the KB before grabbing it back. Hope all this makes sence as i have only been doing KB for a short time and not on a regular basis as yet but when the tax check come in im purchesing a 12kg-16kg and a 24kg
