I bought Mr Tuckers guide to GS about 2 months ago, have been training the jerk @8rpm 4 days a week. Being used to low rep hardstyle PTP stuff I couldn't bear 6min rounds to start with, so I started at 3 & upped a minute every 6 workouts & now am at 7. Am I ready to test yet!?. Also i've been pretty plain Jane with the exercises, just jerking without changing the weight or going to LC, is this not enough variety? Peace out to my GS homeboys!

Its always a good time to test, it keeps you honest and on track. Just follow the exercises and methods in Pauls book and you will go fine. Performing the jerk 4 times a weak is a solid effort. If your not already doing it rotate it easy, medium light days. Ie change the kettlebell weights, times and cadence. if you have access to the 16's, 20's, 24's etc. If not use the same two bells, whatever you have and alter the cadence, 4-6rpm easy, 8-12 moderate and 13-15 as hard days. keep to the exercises that give you the most bang for your buck, squats-front and back, explosive jumps with weight, farmers walks, chins, swings etc for assistance exercises. Test your self once a month to keep on track. If you getting out 100reps in 10 minutes go heavier.

cheers

You're right! I had a slight feeling something was missing. I tell you what though, I think everyone will agree here, GS is the most painful but most rewarding thing i've ever done! That & ex-girlfriends....
