In case you've missed the announcement, here is a new GS ranking table: http://www.girevik-online.ru/images/stories/administrator/normativ2010.xls It's in Russian, but it's fairly self explanatory.
I like it better than http://www.girevoysport.ru/ranking.htm and http://www.worldkettlebellclub.com/ranks.htm because CMS uses 24kg.
Also, the WKC ranking has been updated yet again and it has gotten even harder. I wonder what's better for GS making the ranks easier or harder to attain.
BTW, the announcement came from http://onlinekettlebellcoach.com, which also has a nice write-up on GSAA by Paul and some technique videos. The videos are a "must-see": Valentin Egorov's technique is just poetry in motion.
Cheers,
Stoyan.

Hi Stoyan,
I think your link to the WKC is actually and old one (I wish it was that one, then I'd have no worries with MS). The new system has men doing CMS with 28kg so the WKC are making it easier for men and harder for women at this stage, which evens it up a bit I guess: http://worldkettlebellclub.com/ranks.php
Personally I'm all for harder. It should be achievable for anyone who wants to put the work in, but I reckon it should be hard enough that there's 2-3 years work to get MS rank, otherwise it will lose its clout.

I'm setting my goals at the end of this year when my leg is almost better. MS is a 3 year dream..........

Emily, you are right about the link it's rank.php not rank.htm, even though they both have the same copyright date of 2006-2007. I agree about making it harder. MS stands for Master of Sport, which means that one should work his/her bottom off in the process of getting it. Speaking of which, shouldn't you be heading to the US soon for your ranking?
One happy medium of having tough numbers for the ranks and yet getting people into GS would be to change the names of the lowers ranks. For example instead of Rank I call it Lord of the Kettlebell, Rank II = Godfather of GS, Rank III = Kettlebell Jedi, etc. Just because it's called Rank something, doesn't mean that it's easy to attain. Having fancy titles may be more encouraging and distinguishing.
Mick, if MS is "a 3 year dream" for you then you are living your dream already.

Stoyan thats an excellent idea! And I agree with Em because the title master should be held sacred. Not like the australian institute of fitness's master trainer certificate you get after 2 months of study...
