View Full Version : Emily heads to US...
After 3 odd years of dedicated training, Em left for the US yesterday in pursuit of a finer understanding of kb lifting and the chance to compete and possibly achieve a 'Master of Sports'. On behalf of the team here at AKB, we wish her all the best!!!

Indeed , and the opportunities are there for anyone willing to put in some effort! Rickster himself may fancy the chance to don the green and gold lycra one day ;)

Thanks guys! Won the 16kg long cycle, in my weight division and got highest score overall for women's 16kg long cycle. Now officially ranked CMS.
Have a shocking cold and feel like crap so desperately hoping I get better before the MS attempt next week.
The comp was awesome fun and the people were great. Got to meet my beloved coach, who is even more impressive in the flesh, and the Ice Chamber crew who are setting new standards for lifting over here.

Emily that is an outstanding effort , and I can speak for all the GSAA members as well as others here who realise what a monumental workload lies behind this achievement. Simply - well done!
You will benefit from a few days rest , believe me. No reason at all that the MS is not to be won. You are strong and have done the work. Just eat well , sleep well and get your mind into the right place.
All the best, P

Thanks Albi.
Mick, yes there was a lot of doubt Saturday when I couldn't last even seven minutes without falling in a sweaty, shaking heap. The only reason I picked a bell back up yesterday was because I knew I had to get back on the horse - I was only going to do a six minute set. Reverse psychology usually works pretty well on me though ;)
