Hi all,

have not poted for a while and frankly been a little slack. Well deserved break though a ready to tackle my own pre-season goals for soccer

Mon 4/1
AM

5km interval run on undulating terrain

PM

20 x (2 x 24kg) KB burpees
20 x (2 x 24kg) KB snatches
5 min KB juggling
4 x 10 es 24kg KB chair press
20 x (2 x 24kg) KB squat
6 x 30 sec KB planche
5 x 2 min boxing (medium bag)

Easing my way back into it. Goals have changed. Still want to maximise my relative strength but am focusing more on interval training and agility for the upcoming soccer season. Back on the field after a 3 year break :-) Got a lot to prove before I become a "Master" in the middle of this year. Good lifting all

Tues 5/10

1.5km warm up run
6 x overpass bridge shuttles run at 3/4 pace (bridge length approx 120m w/ upward gradient of approx 30 degrees)
1.5km run back to ground

1 hour soccer drills and plyometrics

Good hit out and some of soccer boys struggled with the sprints in approx 37 degree heat. Cest la vie......that is pre-season. Lot more interval training ahead - running and resistance. The fun has barely started. Want to work up to the 100 x (2 x 24kg) KB full burpees again. That one is a real ball buster....I love it!!!! Happy lifting to all

Sat 9/1

5.6km run easy pace on undulating terrain
immediately followed by 3km run or half loop at 3/4 pace

Mon 11/1

20/20 L/R 24kg KB snatch into bottoms up position with 20 sec hold
25/25 OALCCJ 24kg
10/10 bent press 24kg
5 min juggling 2 x 24kg (always tests me)
10/10/10/10 reverse snatch lunge with explosive jump back into start position (great ballistic movement)
strict press ladder 24kg 1-6

good to do a morning strength session. Soleus is becoming a constant problem that has to be sorted. Sharp twinging after every run. Looking forward to conducting a circuit training session with the soccer boys tomorrow night. Will pull out the tyres, kegs, slalom poles, and use every piece of available park equipment to fire up a good session. Will be very mindful of severe conditions though. Happy lifting all :-)
