Put simply, this is the best rack money can buy. It has been built like an elite athlete should be – to specifications, rather than a budget.
Best of all, the whole thing is one hundred percent Australian made by people who are athletes, exercise enthusiasts and mad scientists in equal measure. The Assault Rack will meet all expectations and sustain any amount of abuse dealt to it over the course of the broadest variety of multi-joint exercises.
The rack is super-stable courtesy of it's 120cm by 175cm base. The uprights are spanned by a chin-up bar that can be adjusted from 165cm to as high as 265cm. This means that people six-and-a-half feet tall can finally do chins with their feet off the ground.
The rack is built from 3, 4 and 10mm steel. All joints and gussets are welded cleanly and unobtrusively along with black high-tensile bolts where necessary. Even the feet have been welded closed rather than finished with cheap plastic caps. Finally, the whole thing has been wrapped in a sleek black powder-coating which not only resists scratching and denting, but provides an excellent gripping surface especially on the chin bar.
If form defines function, then the Assault Rack’s simple, elegant design is the ultimate. All the holes have been laser-cut and indexed to make matching pegs, spotting arms and J cups fast and easy. It also provides plenty of holes to allow the Assault Rack to be fully compatible with a broad range of Iron Edge specialty exercise gear – from resistance bands to the Torsonator.
If you need to make comparisons, we’d be the first to encourage you to do so. Looking at other racks over the internet, however, just won’t cut it. Our competitors' racks are made from cheaper, thinner steel and are designed to be flat-packed for export from China. Even screwing in spotting arms tightly will crush them out of shape like a Coke can. We are so certain of the durability of this rack we will back it up with a lifetime guarantee.
Next time you hear someone say, ‘Nice Rack’, you’ll know they’re talking about yours.

PerfectFit It would appear to be exactly what I am looking for, to go in my recently furnished home gym. All I was missing was a chinbar. But I see it can be used for soo much more that it would be a huge asset .

Yeah big thumps up on the assault rack guys! I'm 6ft 1 and its tall enough for me to perform muscle ups on and also have plenty of clearance for doing pull ups which is really hard to find in most racks out on the market, a monkey could put the thing together also

Monster rack!
Just to give a big thumbs up to Australian KBS.
I ordered this rack and some other bits and it all arrived without issue a few days later. Well impressed.
The rack was simple to put together and appears to be build as solid as a rock.
I`ve been throwing my weight around with it doing some kipping chins and dips on it and it`s awesome.
I`m really impressed with the service you guys have shown and will be ordering other bits soon.

Answered Questions
• can you use this for kipping chin ups?
A: At an adjusted max height of 265cm, the chin bar allows feet clearance for those under ~6 foot 8 inches. The solid construction means there is very, very little movement even when your aggressively kipping.
• is the bar the top round so you can chin off it? and can you attach dip bars?
A: Sure is, the top bar is round and has a 33mm dia. Its been specifically designed for chinning and attaching straps for rings. You certainly can attach dipping bars you'd do this via the optional spotting arms.
• Hi guys!
I realise it's not released just yet but can you give an approximate price on the unit- I think it's exactly what I'm looking for!
Cheers
Tom
A: We're still currently producing the first run so we don't yet have our costs finalized. Sorry we can't be more specific, we'll update the site as soon as we know, stay tuned.
• Will this rack be compatible with the matrix spotting arms, and will it be able to be used like a power rack's spotting arms for squats?
A: Yes the spotting arms are compatible and are ideal for spotting you during squats.
• hi, just wondering how portable is this product and roughly how long would it take to fully assemble and deconstruct for transport
A: The assembly time would be no more than 15 mins. The unit is portable but would take 2 to lift it. You could slide the unit by yourself on the appropriate surface.
• Will you be posting up the name suggestions that don't get picked? I'd love to see peoples ideas!
A: Of course. There are some classics- 'The Rambo Maker' for one!!
• in the answered questions you said it would take two people to carry it , how much does it weigh and would you be able to post a video of the assembly from fully deconstructed to ready to use ,when available
A: It will be approximatley 110kg although we have not had adequate scales to accurately weight the prototypes. As soon as we have the first one roll off the production line later next week we will shoot a bunch of photos and videos and load them up asap.
• Will there be the possibilty in the future of having a taller option for those who are taller than 6 foot 5 inches? Nothing worse than trying to do chin-ups when your feet touch the ground and you can't get full hang extension.
A: Absolutely! The possibility exists currently to get the height up to 265cm. There are other options to get it higher but as yet they're untested. Shoot an email to josh@ironedge.com.au if you'd like further details.
• Will there be the possibilty in the future of having a more portable system that weighs less and takes more like 5 mins to assemble as i travel a lot
A: We certainly wont eliminate the chance of this happening however our aim is currently to produce the best quality and most functional racks available as opposed to lightweight options
• When this product is launched will it be sold with accessories such as j hooks and spotting arms etc. or will it be sold on its own?
A: Still nutting out the details but both with accessories and stand alone units will be available.
• would it be possible to use tightener knobs instead of using nuts and bolts for ease of assembly or not?
A: Possible but decidedly not recommended. The Rack has been designed and setup to be a rock solid stand alone unit in a home or commercial gym as opposed to being an easy to assemble mobile unit. There are 22 bolts involved in assembly and assembly time using the bolts is around the 20min mark.
• Hi guys,
Your promo setup is inside on floor mats, which provide the stability and non-slip surface. How will it fit on an outdoor surface like concrete (garage) or tiles/pavers and will it need rubber mat or 'feet' underneath to keep it stable / prevent movement ?
Thanks,
Vlad
A: We originally tested it out in our warehouse which has a concrete floor, same amount of movement or rather lack there of. As long as the floor you set it up on is level it will be a rock solid unit.
• can you use the 12inch and the 41 inch power band for bench presses squats and deadlifts with
the assault rack
A: For pressing and squatting absolutely, we've shot a video showcasing a few of the possibilities you can check it out here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sJwiX-cM6uk&feature=player_embedded
As for deadlifting, you could definately set the rack up for deloading but there are no anchoring points low enough for loading. For loading up deadlifts with bands try the method used here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KvCUsge28LQ&feature=player_embedded#at=138
• Will this be suitable for outdoor use? i also don't have a tarp, so it will be exposed to the rain.
thanks
A: No. The Assault Rack is powder coated, but not galvanized. If it's left out in the weather it will rust over time.
• Hi guys, just wondering what is the height of this product (assuming the chinning attachment is taken off).
Also - is there a possibility to have a shorter version - as I'm planning to have plonked inside.
A: Total height 245cms. If you need a shorter unit give us a buzz or shoot an email to info@ironedge.com.au to discuss custom options.
• Hi what is the max weight the rack can hold?
A: We've tested the chin bar to 200kgs, the spotting arms to over 400kgs and the J-hooks will hold more then most will ever even dream of lifting.
• Hi, can you use this to mount trx straps across the chin up bar?
A: Sure can
• how is this rack different to the deluxe?
A: It ships with the rack and J Hooks only, no Spotting Arms or Utility Pegs.
• How stable is the rack when it comes to bar muscle-ups and exercises like forward-rolls when attached with Power Rings? Ta
A: Extremely! You won't have an issue with those moves. If you want added security though you can always stack some weight plates at the base.
