This DVD is the basics of clubbell movements. Coach Sonnon is an excellent communicator, his understanding of biomechanical efficiency is profound, and you learn so much by his physical example, even more than his explanations, which in themselves are clear and concise. This DVD is intense. I had to take a break at the 17 minute mark; the information just keeps coming at you. This is one DVD you should definitely assimilate one chapter at a time.
I often take this DVD to the gym in my portable DVD player for coaching. The only flaw in the DVD is the disclaimers in regard to the urethane coated clubbell which is not often found in Australia, and the safety strap discussion which is basically irrelevant as it is not normally applied to our locally available clubbell. Just take in the concepts and move on to the main course of this DVD.
I would definitely recommend that you understand compressive breathing to take full advantage of this DVD. It would be best to understand compressive breathing from Pavel’s Power to the People DVD. These two DVD’s set up a faultless foundation for linear strength and circular strength concepts. I know some may consider me a bit strange, but I now actually enjoy watching this DVD late at night simply for entertainment and enjoyment value.
The swings, grinds, ballistics, and presses – they are all here, superbly demonstrated and explained. Being familiar with these basic concepts and movements will help you take advantage of all the benefits clubbell training has to offer. It may be the beginners DVD but if you utilize this DVD with daily training for approximately two months you will be ready for more advanced concepts. This DVD is where anyone new to clubbell training must begin. It is fortunate Scott Sonnon is such a clear demonstrator and instructor.

Recently bought a pair of 4kg, and 10kg Powerclubs and Scott Sonnans "Clubell training for circular strength" DVD.
Great DVD, more exercises than most are likely to need or want, expressed and demonstrated very well.
The Powerclubs are great to, (fast, efficient service and delivery I might add) its an outstanding workout regime-particularly if you struggle with bad knees for example, they don't tax the joints the way many other exercises will.
Some may find this useful, if your looking to buy a pair, (and didn't read the 'which powerclub should I buy' table, which I missed somehow) ) select a dumbbell weight that you can comfortably do a set of say, 10-12 overhead lifts with, and go for about 60% of that weight for your Powerclub.
They are most certainly, NOT dumbbells, the leverage is unbelievable, keep that in mind!
